Life is hard. Therapy doesn’t have to be.

Seeing you, changes you.

I know, I know...the thought of therapy is SCARY! What am I going to talk about? What will I uncover? Does she look into my soul??? 🙂

Well, not really, but I do believe in bringing safety, connection, and empathy to the problems you have going on in your life. The unique thing about therapy with me is that I'm really good at making sacred space for people. I listen well, encourage, and see you. And, it turns out that seeing people actually changes them. It brings hope into hopeless places and makes you not feel so crazy.

How is therapy different than talking to a friend?

Well, it comes back to holding space.  Most people cannot do this, it’s not a skill that’s taught to us. And we are naturally wired to take space-- imposing our own agendas and opinions on others. Your friends are awesome but they point the conversation back to themselves, telling you what they would do in your situation. Or your spouse starts trying to fix things rather than sit in the uncomfortability. Even when well-intentioned, the truths of others are not our own.

It can feel lonely and hard.  Therapy is a relationship in your life without bias or opinion. It is designed to be open and safe. You need to feel able to collapse in a heap knowing that this person can carry the things that you’ve been carrying.  And this is where that space to practice begins to change you.

Hi, I’m Rebecca

What I love most about this work is when clients find their own voice. I see the light bulbs go off and they begin to live life the way they have always wanted. They find freedom and joy. They find the places that have felt small and made them shrink.

I also might just be the therapist that you finally feel comfortable with. I hear that a lot. Maybe you’ve been to several therapists and just have yet to really connect. I enjoy giving clients an experience of being seen and known that perhaps they have not.
